Here I am in Ohio again, having a most amazing experience with some beautiful people. I'm here with my friend visiting an intentional community in Cincinnati. Here is the basic idea: there are 3 families here, sharing space and resources with the purpose of experiencing real life together while deepening their relationships with Jesus in a community setting.
Right now, I'm just trying to take it all in. These people are so refreshing, and our experiences so far have just been so... good. Yesterday we painted a room and built furniture. And today we worked in the garden. Simple, rewarding work.
Last night I think I nearly passed out from sheer joy. We went to Over the Rhine's cd release party for their new album, Ohio. Karin and Linford are great friends with the director of the community house... and they were both enthusiastic about my interest in coming here. I felt like such a giddy little girl all night. It was bliss.
It sounds like there will be more fun ahead... a cookout tonight, possibly a free Over the Rhine concert later in the week.
