Today I went to lovely Waco with one of my roommates. My all time favorite professor, Cindy Sutter-Tkel, just moved there from Ohio to teach social work at Baylor. She and her husband have adopted two kids from Palau, an island in the South Pacific where she served with the Peace Corps. Justice and Joia are both 4 years old, and their birthdays are just four days apart. So I got to spend a fabulous afternoon riding up and down in a Baylor elevator with them both. We also spent some time shouting "hello" from the fourth story of the parking garage to the college students walking around below. And I played Old Maid for the first time in ages... It was so great to catch up with them all. And I'm really excited, because Cindy has become part of a church that meets under a bridge in the city. I'm hoping to check it out soon.
