I've been listening to Sufjan Stevens. If you want to be happy, you should buy his new record. I've also recently discovered the joys of the Be Good Tanyas.

So far my summer reading has included:
Tortilla Flats by John Steinbeck
Plan B by Anne Lamott
A Separate Peace by John Knowles
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Ronald Dahl
Orthodoxy by G.K. Chesterton
Life Together by Deitrich Bonhoeffer
a Generous Orthodoxy by Brian McLaren
and right now I'm reading some stuff related to education in hopes that it will make me a better teacher. I'll let you know how that goes.

I've only seen a couple of films this summer:
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Harold and Maude (who could get tired of it??)
...and I also watched a little bit of a Bob the Builder movie one morning while I was babysitting.

What about you? Any recommendations?

We live on library DVDs, so we're a bit behind the times. That being said, we really dug House of Flying Daggers, and actually laughed quite a bit at Hitch. Light summer fare. I just finished reading God's Politics by Jim Wallis. I think it should be required reading... That's all :)

I actually read God's Politics a couple of months ago with a book discussion group that I'm a part of back home. An excellent choice....
I haven't seen either of those movies though, so I'll have to look into that. Thank you for the recommendations!!

Thanks, E. The Raggamuffin Gospel is a beautiful book. I hadn't even heard anything about Hitch until these recommendations, but I guess I'll have to see it soon.

The summer is ending soon... Is there any time I can come see you before I have to leave the midwest?

Are blogs marketers' new e-tool?
Rossana Corniel knows her rivals are "blogging." She knows they use Web logs to boost their marketing and heighten their presence on the Internet.
