I just got back from a weekly ESL class (English as a Second Language). The high school students at the school where I teach got a grant to make this class available for free to the people in our community. This week there were people from China, Brazil, El Salvador, and Russia. Usually several Mexicans also attend. I think they must have been out trick-or-treating tonight.

The student leaders told me they were looking for a staff member who could offer some mentorship and guidance, so I'm trying to be available to them. Overall, I'm impressed by what they have accomplished. They actually have a group of adults who come consistently to learn English from them. They do all of the advertising, they plan the lessons... Its not always totally organized, but they're doing very well.
